Indigenous Voices: Dave Holt
Ojibwe musician-poet of the sacred
March 25, 2027
Programmed by Denise Low
Dave Holt draws on his music and spirituality to create Indigenous-inspired songs and poems. He is as comfortable with an Ojibwe hand drum as he is with the piano, and he will discuss how he experiences his culture through the arts in contemporary Northern California. He is one of many relocated tribal-descent people living in Sonoma County who continue to practice storytelling, prayer, and songs influenced by tradition. This beloved performer often works with his singer-musician wife Chappell Holt.
